Dr. Karim received his Ph.D. with Honors from Syracuse University. He is co-author on two publications in cardiovascular psychophysiology. He completed his post-doctoral training at a residential treatment facility for First Responders experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Subsequently, Dr. Karim was Clinical Director of residential schools for special needs populations. Additional experience includes being a member of the Medical Staff at two rehabilitation hospitals, where he maintained a private practice.
Dr. Karim is certified as a Trauma Specialist by the International Traumatology Institute and has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. He works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and other mood and behavioral challenges. In addition, Dr. Karim specializes in working with individuals coping with acute or chronic health conditions.
