Psychotherapy modalities include cognitive/behavioral
psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups. His
specialties include psychodiagnostic evaluation of mental disorders,
attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD), aspergers, learning disabilites
and behavior disorders in addition to psychological and forensic
assessments. He currently serves on the Carroll County Public
Schools Health Council, is a public speaker on various topics
including ADHD and serves as a consultant for the media.
James S. Choi, M.D.

Dr. Choi brings over thirty years experience to the practice.
He treats adult patients with chronic severe mental disorder
such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and refractory depression
and provides psychotropic medication management. He also provides
psychiatric evaluation and treatment of patients suffering from
Alzheimer's dementia. Dr. Choi did his residency at Connecticut
Valley Hospital and Yale University Hospital. Formerly on staff
with Springfield Hospital Center and Carroll Hospital Center,
and consultant for various facilities in the area, Dr. Choi

A graduate of Argosy University in Honolulu, Dr. Beyer, received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Her Masters was earned at the American School of Professional Psychology in Hawaii and her Bachelors in psychology is from the University of California. She was a therapist in Honolulu for geriatric patients before taking a position as staff psychologist with the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill's Counseling and Psychological Service. Robert Lea, Ed. D.

Dr. Lea, a former instructor in Psychology and Social Relations
at Harvard, obtained his doctorate from Harvard Graduate School
of Education. He is licensed in Maryland, is certified in PBSP
Psychomotor Psychotherapy, experiential mind/body group psychotherapy,
and has been in private practice from 1979 until present working
with individuals, couples, children and adolescents. Dr. Lea
experiences success working with young boys and adolescents
with behavioral and other issues. His dissertation at Harvard
was: Acting Up Disorders In Young Children.

Dr. Malcy provides a variety of assessment and intervention services to children with autism spectrum disorders. She also provides school consultations, social skills groups for children/adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, and individual treatment services. Ruth S. Stephen, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Ruth Stephen is a licensed clinical psychologist. She completed her Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Loyola College in Maryland. She has worked in diverse clinical settings including outpatient mental health clinics, inpatient hospital care, forensic treatment, and private practice. Her clinical work spans individual, couples, family and group therapy as well as psychological evaluations for children, adolescents and adults.
Her clinical interests include working with adolescents and adults on management of mood and anxiety, behavior modification, and personality disorders. Interpersonal theory and cognitive-behavioral approaches are incorporated into her treatment style. Dr. Stephen is a member of the America Psychological Association.

Pamela S. Jennings, Ph.D.

Dr. Jennings, licensed in Maryland and DC, has practiced Clinical Psychology since 1984, when she graduated from the George Washington University doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. In 1994, Pam completed training in Psychoanalysis at the Baltimore-Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis. In her clinical work, she has specialized in adult Psychoanalysis, the treatment of behavioral, anxiety and affective disorders in children and adults and, forensic evaluations in which she provides comprehensive court related assessments for attorneys representing children, adolescents, and adults.
Since 1984, Pam has held both full and part time faculty positions in doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology. She has taught at Howard University, and George Washington University. She also served as a teaching analyst at the Baltimore-Washington Center for Psychoanalysis for a number of years. Dr. Jennings’ teaching experiences has included online teaching for Walden University in their School of Psychology.

Dr. Drew graduated from Wayne State University with a doctorate in clinical psychology and a minor in developmental psychology. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Ohio State University in stress and health and worked 9 years for Ohio University as a therapist providing cognitive-behavioral interventions for patients enrolled in NIH-funded research studies. In addition to working at Carroll Counseling Center, she works for Johns Hopkins University on a study that assesses obsessive compulsive disorder. Her clinical interestes include management of anxiety and mood disorders, stress management, and coping with chronic illness through the use of cognitive behavioral techniques and skill building in patients.

Pam Warwick
Intake/Credentialing Coordinator
Ms. Warwick received her bachelor’s degree with honors in Psychology from Millersville University in Millersville, PA. She is in charge of matching patients with the doctor who best suits the patient's needs. She schedules the initial assessment for patients with a psychologist and/or psychiatrist. She is also responsible for assisting doctors with credentialing to serve on various insurance panels and Medicare.
